Instagram Testing Latest Posts: A New Feature

Fake likes

Instagram is reportedly testing a new feature for its users to see the reverse-chronological feed in their timeline, the company is said to be working on a new feature called “Latest Posts” the new feature seems a popup over the main feed, the area would bring users newest posts from their network.

Currently, the feature doesn’t look like a perfect chronological feed option like Facebook, but if launched it will help users to make sure that they don’t miss anything new posted on their network.

The new feature was discovered by Jane Wong on twitter, she also shared screenshots from Instagram Android app, as you can see the image, there is a pop-up that appears over the main screen if users clicks see posts instead of not now, he/she would be taken to another screen showing the latest posts feed.

The company did not immediately respond for the update when contacted, however, they have often endorsed the finding of Jane Wong. Keeping that in mind Instagram users are likely to get a new feature in some time when it will be ready to roll out.

In 2016, Instagram changed the chronological feed system from their platform and generated new feed algorithm which followed the decency order. The algorithm restricted users to scroll down the feed of what the platform thinks is best for you, it ranked the content based on user engagement. Despite some backlash, Instagram kept the feed’s algorithm as its relevant to the users’ interest. Now the company is giving it a new exposure, the people would find more interesting and new content on the platform with the new “Latest Posts” feature.
