PTCL to Provide University of Peshawar and 25 Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wi-Fi Services

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Ministry of Science, Technology and IT have signed an agreement with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) about the installation of a high-speed internet connection for twenty-five colleges throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and at the University of Peshawar. The GM-Digital Services, PTCL Suleman Awan, and CPO- Department of Sci, Tech & IT Ishtiaq Hussain of KP government inked the agreement.

At the event, Senior Minister for IT and Health Shahram Khan said that now as the government of KP is considering the matter of providing creative and beneficial services for the residents of KP many projects have already been started for the public welfare. He also added that the government has a special focus on using technology for giving various facilities to the people across KP. He mentioned that he believes on PTCL’s efforts regarding the KP government’s initiatives for public welfare.

Both KP government and PTCL are inclined towards bringing organized transformation in educational institutes via the installation of technology and IT-based infrastructure. This initiative would ensure that the students and faculty of higher education organizations may have access to the PTCL broadband Wi-Fi facility. This would assist the students and the teachers to access the content and material they need to explore for refining and perusing their research.

PTCL is happy for making this agreement with the government of KP for spreading the ICT services across the entire province, Chief Digital Services Officer-PTCL Adil Rashid said. He also added that the steps taken by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are appreciable and would help in bringing positive changes in the important sectors like Information Technology, Health, and Education.
He mentioned that PTCL will continue providing beneficial and versatile digital facilities and products for improving the lifestyles of people and for their empowerment.
