Redmi Note 12 Turbo First Harry Porter Themed Smartphone

Redmi Harry Porter

Co-branding and special editions are becoming increasingly fashionable for smartphones in times of low demand. With the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, Xiaomi has now presented a new variant of its recently launched mid-range smartphone, which is also available as a “Harry Potter Edition“.

Of course, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo in the Harry Potter Edition adapts primarily to its appearance. The well-known coat of arms is shown on a black background, with the lettering of the well-known book and film character also visible. In addition, Xiaomi has implemented a “cute” detail here, which is probably intended to appeal to fans of the wizard’s apprentice from Hogwarts.

The two main cameras on the back have a gold border printed on the rear housing cover and are connected by a bridge so that in this way the glasses from Harry Potter are recreated. Xiaomi also bundles the “Potter Edition” with a leather-look cover that also features the franchise’s logo and crest.

Extensive accessories

The scope of delivery of the special edition also includes a matching SIM picker, some stickers, and a kind of certificate that confirms that it is a special, official “Special Edition with Harry Potter”. In addition, the manufacturer also donates a load of suitable wallpapers and a customized theme for the Android operating system used here.

Technically, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Turbo is quite attractive even without the Potter branding. It is based on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 octa-core SoC with an integrated 5G modem, which delivered similarly high performance as last year’s flagship chips in the first benchmarks. The chip is combined with up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and a maximum of one terabyte of flash memory.

The display of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo is 6.67 inches, and offers a 1080p resolution, and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. On the back is a 64-megapixel main camera, which is paired with an 8-megapixel sensor for ultra-wide-angle shots. In addition, a macro sensor with two megapixels is also integrated.

The battery is 5000mAh and can be charged quickly using a 67-watt power adapter. The starting price in China is 2000 yuan, which corresponds to about $290. The Potter Edition costs the equivalent of a good $340 in the only available variant with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory.
