With iPadOS 18, Apple plans to discontinue support for a large number of iPads from previous generations. There were rumors back in February that the iPadOS 18 will not be available for iPads with A10X Fusion processors. It was suggested that the iPadOS 18 upgrade would not be available for the first-generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro from 2017 or the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, the tweet was removed shortly thereafter.
As of now, 9to5Mac has now discovered a new rumor bringing up this issue. asserting that the iPadOS 18 upgrade will not be available for the sixth-generation iPad, the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and the first-generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro. iPadOS 18 will be available on the same devices as iPadOS 17, excluding the ones previously listed. The A10 Fusion chip, which powers the 7th generation iPad from 2019, is expected to receive the iPadOS 18 update.

Following iPads will be compatible with the new iPadOS 18 update: iPad (2019) and later, iPad mini (2019) and later, iPad Air (2019) and later, and iPad Pro (2018) and later.

But in regards to iOS 18, these are not the odds. All devices running iOS 17 will also run iOS 18. The list comprises of the following:
