Users are irritated by Microsoft Edge’s file-opening bug

Have you noticed that it’s been harder than usual lately to open files in Microsoft Edge?

Rest assured; you are not by yourself. Users of Microsoft Edge are growing irritated with the repeated clicks required to open files after a recent upgrade crippled file opening through the download’s menu.

This new file-opening bug in Microsoft Edge

News about Microsoft Edge is starting to surface on the unofficial subreddit. Users have complained that it takes more than one clicks to open files in the download queue in a Reddit thread. Users are being greatly irritated by this since it appears that they must repeatedly click the file in order for it to open.

One user pointed out that delaying clicking on the file after selecting the downloads option is the best approach to avoid this error. Instead, the file should “unlock” and open with a single click if you give it a few seconds of waiting. Nevertheless, this is a bothersome bug, particularly for users who wish to download and open a large number of files.

This problem was just patched by Microsoft in response to a flaw that was causing Edge to “steal” tabs from users’ Chrome profiles. However, if you’ve already updated Edge or are using it on a brand-new computer, you should wait to access downloaded files until Microsoft releases a patch for this irritating bug.
