Xiaomi 13 Pro breaks the Android display brightness record

Recently, the South Korean firm introduced the latest OLED panel. Samsung unveiled its E6 Super AMOLED display panel that could reach 2,000 nits of peak brightness. This panel is particularly designed for smartphones. Interestingly, this same panel has been utilized by the tech company Apple in its most recent iPhone 14 series. It is utilized in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Aside from the iPhone market, it now appears like that the Android smartphone market is all set to introduce the same panel in the Android segment. The latest smartphone by Xiaomi has set a new brightness record in the Android segment.

The latest information is based on the news from Ice Universe [Weibo]. Reportedly, the company Xiaomi has shared an image. In the image, the Xiaomi 13 Pro could be witnessed with 1,900 nits of peak screen brightness. Whereas the all-screen brightness is 1,200 nits. Interestingly, the company claims that despite such high levels of brightness the battery life for the smartphone is improved by around 22%. It is quite an improvement in contrast to the one presented last year. Well, such a feature could be possible due to a combination of a new display and a powerful processor having greater efficiency.

Although the display has been produced by Samsung Display. But some rumors indicate that Samsung’s MX division itself has not utilized the E6 AMOLED display in its upcoming flagship smartphone series. As per the reports, the Galaxy S23+ and the Galaxy S23 Ultra show a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. If we consider this news as true, then it would be the first time ever that a smartphone by Samsung lacks the capacity to be the brightest Android smartphone in the market.

Similar to Xiaomi, various other smartphone companies like iQOO, Vivo, and OPPO, have used the new E6 AMOLED display in their smartphones. E6 AMOLED display is based on a new material that contributes to screening brightness as well as reduces the consumption of power.
