Xiaomi’s upcoming Redmi K80 series is rumored to ship with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Gen 4 CPUs

We have received some latest information on the upcoming Redmi K80 series. The tipster Digital Chat Station is the source of this information. One thing to notice here is that this information is not official. However, the information shared by the tipster gives us some insight about the next generation of these smartphones.

According to the details shared by the tipster, the new series will comprise of two members: the Redmi K80 and the Redmi K80 Pro. There is no mentioning about a specific launch date. However, there is an indication that these smartphones could arrive later in 2024. Perhaps they will be official alongside the next-gen Snapdragon processors.

The tipster suggests a major change in the processing power. We can assume that the upcoming Redmi K80 series will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Well, it depends on the availability of these chipsets in the upcoming months. If this news is correct, then it will be a deviation from the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor found in the Redmi K70 series.

In addition to this, the tipster shared some details about the battery life and design of the upcoming smartphones. Compared to the 5,000mAh capacity of Redmi K70’s battery, we can expect “ultra-large-capacity high-density silicon anode batteries” for the Redmi K80 series. As far as design is concerned the upcoming smartphones are expected to retain the same design language. They will feature the metal middle frame, a 2K screen, and a glass body.
