2020 to be the End of WhatsApp on Millions of Devices

2020 will be the end of WhatsApp on millions of devices. From 2020, the leading instant messaging app will not work on millions of older phones. From December 31st, 2019 WhatsApp will not be working on any Windows Phones. Then from Feb 1st, 2020, iPhones that operate on iOS 8 or older will no longer be supported by WhatsApp. Furthermore, WhatsApp will also withdraw support from phones that run on Android devise version 2.3.7 or older.

WhatsApp on its blog said, “Users of these operating systems are already unable to create new WhatsApp accounts or re-verify existing accounts.”

December 31st, the month in which Microsoft is ending support of its Windows 10 Mobile OS will also be the month when WhatsApp is withdrawing support from all the Windows phones.

Back in 2014, Facebook bought WhatsApp for $19 billion. The aim was to integrate the service with its other services i.e. Messenger and Instagram.

It is also important to tell our readers that users were facing issues in sending and receiving messages on WhatsApp recently. WhatsApp outage was experienced in Europe and in the US, Mexico, and South America.
