Apple Releases iOS 15.2 Beta 4 For Developers To Test

iOS 15.2 Beta 4

Apple has now heralded the fourth round for the iOS 15.2 beta and is providing an updated test version. The new pre-release version is available for registered developers, the beta in the public test should follow soon.

For the new iOS 15, Apple is still processing all those functions that – although announced – were still missing in the final version. The fourth pre-release version of iOS 15.2 is now starting to test new functions. New builds of iPadOS 15.2, tvOS 15.2, and watchOS 8.3 are also available. The fourth beta of iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 has the build number 19C5050b and thus replaces the third build 19C5044b.

Not much is known about the individual changes. iOS and iPadOS 15.2 provide support for App Privacy Report, a feature that Apple first introduced at WWDC. With the app privacy report, you can see at a glance how often apps access sensitive data assigned to them via privacy permissions, such as location, camera, microphone, and contacts.

In addition, there are mainly changes “under the hood”. Apple has fixed a number of bugs and incorporated a number of other improvements.

How to take part in the beta program

Initially, Apple released the iOS 15.2 beta update only for registered developers. An update for end-users will follow soon, but nothing has been seen yet. If you have not yet registered for the public beta program, you can still do so and then join in when the new public beta is available. Participation is free and requires a one-time registration for the program at https://beta.apple.com/sp/en/betaprogram from the correspondingly supported device. The Apple ID is required for this.

Once you have registered, you will automatically receive new beta versions as with any other update. One should keep in mind, however, that as with any beta version, unforeseen problems could arise. It is, therefore, better not to use your productive iPhone, but rather a second device for the tests.
