Twitter To Open Office In Ghana For Presence In Africa
Twitter often advertises itself as a platform for public conversations. Over time, it has changed its user experience to make discussions more transparent. These include tags that identify heads of state and state-affiliated media accounts and community-oriented methods to curb the spread of misinformation. The company announced on Monday that “it is opening a new office in Ghana to conduct business in Africa.”
This move is part of Twitter’s development strategy to promote public dialogue. The company believes that in order to promote constructive discussions related to the African continent, it needs to fully engage with the African community. Therefore, it is currently building a team in Ghana and is hiring for engineering, design, product and marketing-related positions. As part of its home office policy, new employees will be hired immediately and work remotely, but the ultimate goal is to open a physical office in Ghana.
