YouTube is adding another feature for Android and iOS: Add to Queue feature

Youtube video

The ‘Add To Queue’ feature is already presented on the YouTube desktop. It enables the users to add videos that they wish to watch followed by the current one. Using the ‘Add To Queue’ feature, the video is added to eh list just below the mini player. As of now, YouTube is experimenting with a new feature for Android and iOS.

Presently, the videos can be saved as ‘Save To Watch later’ or ‘Save To playlist’ given Android and iOS. This feature permits the users to access the content at a later time. When you use the ‘Save To Watch later’ or ‘Save To playlist’ features, the video is permanently stored on the app. For removing it, users are required to manually delete the video. In contrast, adding a video to a queue is temporary. It does not rely on the requirement of its removal. As soon as the new feature goes live on iOS and Android, you can access it from the 3-dot overflow menu next to the videos. Followed by that select the ‘Play Last In Queue’ option presented at the top of the list. One thing to notice here is that this feature is not applicable to YouTube Shorts.

Once you have added the video using the above option, it will get added to the mini-player. You can drag and drop the videos and set the required sequence for video playing. By swiping left video will be removed from the mini-player. Furthermore, users could repeat and shuffle the videos as well. When the mini-player is closed the queue is also cleared.

According to reports by 9to5Google, the new feature is publicized as a Premium feature. Thus, indicating that it will only be available to premium subscribers. To use this feature, click on your Profile Picture, click on Settings, and select Try New Features. once you have selected this option, the features will be loaded onto the app. For Android and iOS, YouTube will test the new feature until January 28. After that, it will roll out.
