To uncover fresh startups, Samsung is hosting the C-Lab Outside event in Korea
According to some fresh pieces of information, the South Korean conglomerate is going to hold the C-Lab Outside event in Korea. Reportedly, the event will be organized from 17 July 2023 to 18 August 2023. The company aims at finding out innovative startups and strengthening the domestic startup environment. The company has organized the event for the sixth time.
Interestingly, the company is organizing the event simultaneously in two different locations for the first time in Korea. The event will be organized in Seoul, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Gwangju simultaneously. The C-Lab Outside program intends to uncover fresh and capable startups. In order to participate in the C-Lab Outside event, the companies must register at the official website of Samsung C Lab. One thing to notice here is that the companies that are included in the investment stage Series B or lower in South Korea are eligible for this program.
Starting this year, in addition to the previously established qualification requirements, the criteria for eligibility have been broadened to start-ups that are at the Series B investment stage or lower. In this way, both early-stage and fully-fledged business expansion start-ups can participate in the event, according to the official post.
For 2023, the C-Labs Outside event is focusing on startups associated with Digital Health, IoT Devices, Mobility, Robotics, AI, Contents & Services, Materials & Parts, and ESG. There are certain new fields that are chosen because they would improve society. It appears that the new participants in this year’s competition are from the domains of materials & parts, AI, and digital health.
In accordance with the information provided by Samsung, Samsung Electronics has cultivated a total of 866 internal enterprises and startups through C-Lab projects, including 391 internally and 475 externally.
