With a weight of under 230 grams, the Vivo X Fold 3 may be the lightest foldable phone

When it comes to foldable smartphones, the main focus of Chinese manufacturers is weight. Currently, the Honor Magic V2 with its 231g weight is known as the lightest horizontally foldable smartphone in the local Chinese market. However, some recent reports indicate that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 3 could grab the title of the lightest foldable smartphone this year.

Information regarding the dimensions of the Vivo X Fold 3

According to reports, Vivo will soon debut three new products, including the Vivo X100s, the Vivo Pad 3 tablet, and the Vivo X Fold 3 series, at a launch event. The Fold series comprises the Vivo X Fold 3, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Recently, the tipster, Digital Chat Station shared on Weibo that an upcoming foldable smartphone will feature 5mm dimensions when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded. In addition to this, the post indicates that the smartphone will weigh between 220 grams and 229 grams. Besides this, the tipster previously claimed that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 3 will be thin and light in weight. This could be an indication that the tipster is referring to X Fold 3 and not the Pro version of the series in his latest post.

Moreover, the tipster recently shared that the Vivo X Fold 3 will be somewhat different from the Pro model in terms of features. Reportedly, the X Fold 3 won’t feature a periscope telephoto camera, wireless charging, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. All such features will reportedly be available on the Pro version. Thus, it seems that the X Fold 3, which is anticipated to have a low price tag, might become the thinnest foldable phone.
